16mm PE-RT Pipe Suspended Heat Plates Underfloor Heating

Suspended Heat Plates

Suspended Heat Plates Underfloor Heating System

Suspended Heat Plates utilise heat emission plates laid between the joists which are formed to accommodate the underfloor heating pipework. Typically, these will lay into soft insulation or pre-grooved insulation board supported by battens and board between the joist ensuring maximum contact with the floor finish and optimising the total heat output whilst minimising downward heat loss. We stock 16mm 200cc and 133cc plates but can obtain almost any centres or pipe size suitable plates. Made from 0.5mm thick aluminium in an omega pattern which helps hold the pipe in place. Plates should be spaced with a 5mm gap between each plate and should be appropriately tacked along each edge. When the plates are cut the edges should be deburred to avoid tearing/puncturing the pipe.

Suspended Heat Plates Underfloor Heating Project Suitability

  • When the floor levels cannot be increased
  • Ideal for retrofit properties and new builds
  • Suited to most floor coverings

Lo-Screed Underfloor Heating
Features & Benefits

  • Aluminium heat plate (WxLxH) 390mm x 1000mm x 0.5mm
  • Heat plates characteristics and structure evenly distribute heat over the entire surface while acting as a pipe fixing

Floor Coverings

wood and laminates

Wood Flooring

Wood and laminate flooring can be laid directly on to the Suspended Heat Plates system, along with an underfloor heating suitable underlay. You should always consult the flooring manufacturer to ensure the wood floor is suitable with underfloor heating. The wood floor should not exceed 27°C
Wood floors should be kept to a minimal height To avoid restricting the heat from the underfloor heating

tiles

Tile Flooring

Tiles can be laid directly on to Suspended Heat Plate system using a flexible tile adhesive. We strongly advise the use of a decoupling membrane, this will help prevent cracks and also provide a separation layer should you want to change the tiles in the future.

LVT and Vinyl

LVT/Vinyl Flooring

LVT / Vinyl need to have a flat surface to lay on. It is recommended to speak directly with the manufacturer to get their recommendation for fitting LVT on top of 6mm plywood over underfloor heating.

carpet

Carpet Flooring

Carpet can be fitted directly on top of Suspended Heat Plates. The tog rating of the carpet and underlay needs to be below 2.5 togs, but this should be reduced if possible.
Make sure to fit underfloor heating suitable underlay

The Suspended Heat Plate system is suitable to install in the following patterns
