16mm PE-RT pipe suspended fit from below heat plates underfloor heating

Fit From Below Heat Plates

Fit From Below Plates
Underfloor Heating System

Fit From Below plate systems utilises heat emission plates laid between the joists to the underside of your structural floor. These are pre-grooved to accommodate the underfloor heating pipework and specially designed to enable a straightforward install.
We recommend packing the void with soft insulation to prevent downwards heat loss and optimize the total heat output.
We can provide either double-channel F.F.B. heat plates, which require less work or F.F.B. J-Plates for when tighter spacing is required.
Using tacks or screws smaller than the thickness of the floor above, fix the plates into place. Pull the pipe through the joists loop down the last run and return the pipe back to the manifold. Starting from the furthest part of the room pull the pipe along each joist run and clip the pipe into the plates.

  • If the joists are only accessible from the floor below
  • Obscure or irregular joist centres

Fit From Below Plates Underfloor Heating Features & Benefits

  • Heat Plate – (WxL)– 310mm x 1000mm
  • No need to pull your existing chipboard floor up.
  • Ideal if the below floor ceiling hasn’t been installed.
  • Due to the lack of screed, drywall construction system using Aluminium spreader plates is significantly lighter than wet construction systems.

Floor Coverings

wood and laminates

Wood Flooring

Wood and laminate flooring can be laid directly on to the Fit From Below Heat-Plate system, along with an underfloor heating suitable underlay. You should always consult the flooring manufacturer to ensure the wood floor is suitable with underfloor heating. The wood floor should not exceed 27°C Insulating floor coverings should be kept to a minimal height To avoid restricting the heat from the underfloor heating.

tiles

Tile Flooring

Tiles can be laid directly on to Fit From Below Heat-Plate system using a flexible tile adhesive. We strongly advise the use of a decoupling membrane, this will help prevent cracks and also provide a separation layer should you want to change the tiles in the future.

LVT and Vinyl

LVT/Vinyl Flooring

LVT / Vinyl need to have a flat surface to lay on. It is recommended to speak directly with the manufacturer to get their recommendation for fitting LVT on top of 6mm plywood over underfloor heating.

carpet

Carpet Flooring

Carpet can be fitted directly on top of Fit From Below Heat-Plate. The tog rating of the carpet and underlay needs to be below 2.5 togs, but this should be reduced if possible.
Make sure to fit underfloor heating suitable underlay

The F.F.B. Heat Plate system is suitable to install in the following patterns
