Floating Heat-Plates

Floating Heat Plate

Floating Heat-Plates Underfloor Heating System

Floating Heat-Plates utilise our highly efficient aluminium heat emission plates laid directly onto 25mm extruded polystyrene insulation panels. The aluminium plates conduct the heat to the floor finish whilst the insulation substantially reduces any heat loss to the sub-floor. This system is suitable for a wood floor finish or carpets and tiles laid onto a tongue and grooved surface that has no movement.

The insulation we supply is high-density XPS insulation. The Floating Heat-Plate panels are rated at 300 kPa and is able to take a large force impact without any damage per M².

Floating Heat-Plates Underfloor Heating Project Suitability

  • All house types new or existing
  • Suitable for any floor covering
  • Where build-up height needs to be kept minimal
  • Suitable on all joist 600mm or less CC

Floating Heat-Plates Underfloor Heating Features & Benefits

  • Heat Plate (WxL) 310mm x 1000mm
  • Installs on top of any flat surface
  • Due to the lack of screed, dry construction systems are significantly lighter than wet construction systems.
  • Heat Plate characteristics and structure evenly distribute heat over the entire surface while acting as a pipe bracket

Floor Coverings

wood and laminates

Wood Flooring

Wood and laminate flooring can be laid directly on to the Floating Heat Plate system, along with an underfloor heating suitable underlay. You should always consult the flooring manufacturer to ensure the wood floor is suitable with underfloor heating. The wood floor should not exceed 27°C

tiles

Tile Flooring

Tiles can be laid above Floating Heat Plates, but you must install a tongue and grooved board onto the system. There must be no movement in the system or covering boards.
This system is not recommended for tiles, other systems are better suited for tiled applications.

LVT and Vinyl

LVT/Vinyl Flooring

LVT / Vinyl need to have a flat surface to lay on. It is recommended to speak directly with the manufacturer to ascertain the their requirements prior to installing LVT or Vinyl. The vinyl floor should not exceed 27°C.

carpet

Carpet Flooring

Carpet floors need a flat surface and will require boarding over the system. Always use an underfloor heating suitable underlay. Carpets and underlay combined should be under 2.5tog.

The Floating Heat Plate system is suitable to install in the following patterns
