Lo-Board

Lo-Board Underfloor Heating System

HydroHeat Lo-Board utilises an 18mm high-density gypsum fibreboard which acts as a heat-conducting surface, transferring the heat from the pipes to the finished floor above. With its low build-up height of just 18mm, Lo-board is ideal for most underfloor heating scenarios and is suitable for all floor coverings.

Apply the Multi-End either end of the room, ensuring there’s enough space for ALL connecting pipes. (we provide board layouts to take the guesswork away) The Lo-Arrange the boards across the remaining available space in a brick-like fashion, glueing all joining edges together. Lay the pipes into the boards following the HydroHeat pipe layout design.

Once the system is filled and tested, you can then prepare the boards for the floor covering.

Floor Coverings

wood and laminates

Wood Flooring

Wood and laminate flooring can be laid directly on to the Lo-Board systems, along with an underfloor heating suitable underlay. You should always consult the flooring manufacturer to ensure the wood floor is suitable with underfloor heating. The wood floor should not exceed 27°C

tiles

Tile Flooring

Tiles can be laid directly onto Lo-Board using a flexible tile adhesive. We strongly advise the use of a decoupling membrane, this will help prevent cracks and also provide a separation layer should you want to change the tiles in the future.

LVT and Vinyl

LVT/Vinyl Flooring

LVT / Vinyl need to have a flat surface to lay on. It is recommended to speak directly with the manufacturer to ascertain the depth of self-levelling compound required prior to installing LVT or Vinyl. The vinyl floor should not exceed 27°C.

There are more suitable systems for this floor covering.

carpet

Carpet Flooring

Carpet floors require a flat surface to lay to, purely so the customer doesn’t feel the channels below their feet. The self-levelling compound can be poured to the minimum depth possible with your chosen self-levelling compound.

There are more suitable systems for this floor covering.
